MUS Application Process

We encourage all prospective families to begin the process by filling out our online inquiry form.

This is the initial step where families express interest in SDJA and provide information about their child. It's an opportunity for both the family and the school to learn more about each other.

We highly recommend scheduling a campus tour. It's a great opportunity to see our campus, meet our staff, and get a firsthand look at the SDJA environment.

Once you've expressed interest, you will be directed to the SDJA application portal. Here, you'll create an account or log in if you already have one. The portal contains the application and recommendation forms for the application process. Note that a separate application should be submitted for each child.

Required Documents for Application Process

• Student application: Complete the student application form, including personal and academic information.
• Nonrefundable $100 application fee: This fee  covers the processing of the application.
• Current math and english teacher recommendations: Obtain a recommendation from your child's current english and math teachers. 
• Current administrator recommendation: Secure a recommendation from a school administrator or principal.
• Report cards/Transcripts: Provide your child's report cards. 
• Birth Certificate or passport: Include a copy of your child's birth certificate or passport.

The application process for students entering grades 7-11 requires the Independent school entrance exam (ISEE).  You can schedule your child’s ISEE easily through the ISEE website: Register Now.

Choose between online or in-person testing options.  

SDJA is hosting paper-based in-person tests on the following dates:

• December 3, 2023 at 9am 
• January 21, 2024 at 9am

To sign up, visit ISEE Registration. 

First, create a parent account and then add the child(ren) you’re registering.  Use these events codes:

• December 3: Event Code K6JJ67ZW
• January 21: Event Code PHVV2U4R

Please note - registration closes 12 days before each event! Don't miss out on this opportunity.

After the application materials are received, an admissions team member will contact you to schedule a student interview and a parent conversation. 

If you require Tuition Assistance, there's a separate application process. You can initiate this application along with the student application. However, please be aware that Tuition Assistance awards are typically communicated after the student has been admitted.

Admission decisions for students who submitted materials by February 1st will be communicated by March 15th. 

Upon acceptance, you will receive information about the enrollment process, including details regarding tuition payments.
