At SDJA's Middle School students hone their curiosity, discover their strengths, develop independence, and grow into confident learners. SDJA MS students are equipped with the academic and social-emotional skills needed for future academic success. We foster a safe environment where students are supported in taking positive risks during this critical intellectual and social phase of their development.

Challenge Minds
Middle School students are challenged to think critically, push past their comfort zones, and grow into resilient, confident learners. Our program is intentionally designed to stretch students intellectually, helping them see that true growth comes from doing hard things. In our classrooms, effort is celebrated, mistakes are valued as learning opportunities, and failure is reframed as a natural and necessary part of progress. By cultivating a safe, supportive environment, we empower students to take risks, reflect deeply, and develop the resilience needed to excel in high school and beyond.
Inspire Purpose
As students build their independence, we expect them to become active contributors to our school community. Middle schoolers take on leadership roles, shape campus culture, and represent SDJA in interscholastic athletics and activities. By engaging in purposeful roles and seeing the impact of their contributions, students gain a deeper understanding of their strengths and the value of working toward something bigger than themselves.

Middle school is a time for exploration. We provide students with the freedom and encouragement to discover new passions while receiving support from a diverse network of mentors including deans, coaches, teachers, and community leaders. Through these experiences, students uncover possibilities they may have never considered, developing the confidence and curiosity to chart a future that is uniquely their own.
