Empowering our students to prioritize their health and well-being

We believe that a healthy mind and body are essential for academic success and personal growth. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where students can thrive academically, emotionally, and physically.

Health and wellness at SDJA

Physical Health

We prioritize the physical well-being of our students by providing a range of services and resources. Our school nurse is available to address any health concerns, administer medications, and provide first aid when needed. Regular health screenings and immunization checks are conducted to ensure the overall health of our students.

Community Dining

We offer a nutritious and balanced meal program, promoting healthy eating habits and providing students with the energy they need to excel in their studies. To learn more about this program, visit our Community Dining Program page.

Mental Health

We understand that mental health is just as important as physical health. Our dedicated team of counselors and psychologists are available to provide support and guidance to students facing emotional challenges. They offer individual sessions, and guidance on topics such as stress management, resilience, and self-care. We also have a strong partnership with local mental health professionals who can provide additional support when needed.

Health Education

We believe in empowering our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed decisions about their health. Our health education curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including nutrition, exercise, personal hygiene, sexual health, and substance abuse prevention. We aim to foster a culture of health and wellness by promoting healthy habits and encouraging students to take responsibility for their own well-being.

Community Engagement

Our commitment to health and wellness extends beyond the school walls. We actively engage our students in community service projects. These experiences not only benefit the community but also instill a sense of empathy and social responsibility in our students.

Jewish Values

Our approach to health and wellness is rooted in Jewish values. We believe in the importance of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) and the concept of Pikuach Nefesh (saving a life). Our students learn to prioritize their own well-being and the well-being of others, understanding that a healthy community starts with healthy individuals.
