Keshet Middot: Values-Based Program
The ECC emphasizes fun and meaningful Jewish experiences. Our children celebrate Jewish holidays, participate in weekly Shabbat celebrations, learn Israeli songs and dances, have holiday baking experiences, and listen to and participate in Torah activities. Your child will come home with a deeper understanding and excitement for Judaism and learn to embody the Jewish spirit.
Our warm and caring teachers reinforce important everyday values such hachnasat orchim (welcoming guests) and performing mitzvot. By partnering with families, together we help children gain:
- Self-confidence and a positive self-image
- Enthusiasm for the learning process
- Effective problem-solving strategies
- Complex skills in the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical areas of development
- Respect for others and their bodies
- A feeling of group belonging and community connectedness
- Values to use for self-guided direction
Developing character
Each year, we explore, develop, and apply seven character traits through our Keshet Middot character development program. Our middot are guided both by Jewish teachings and core ethical values. The Keshet Middot instills a culture of kindness and respect, making our school a safe and joyful environment for students to learn.
Our Keshet Middot for the 2024-2025 school year are:
- Yosher: Honesty
- Kavod: Respect
- Chesed: Kindness
- Sakranut: Curiosity
- Optimiyut: Optimism
