High School Academics

Maimonides Upper School

Preparing our students for success beyond the classroom

We believe that every student has the capacity to succeed, and we are dedicated to providing them with the support, resources, and opportunities they need to achieve their academic aspirations here and upon graduation.

Our high school serves as a launching pad for students' academic journeys, equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in college and beyond. SDJA High School students enjoy a close student to teacher ratio that fosters critical inquiry, intellectual growth, and rigorous preparation for life after high school.

Program Overview

The high school experience is one of engagement, action, and community. Our students are the protagonists of the school. They are empowered to lead and expected to activate the vibrant campus community.  At SDJA,  education takes place not only in the traditional classroom setting but throughout the campus - in the quad, in the arts and music studios, at Minyan, on experiential education excursions, and in the interscholastic sports program. Co-curricular activities are a vital part of the school program for all students, and SDJA students routinely share that they learn as much outside of the classroom as they do inside.

Through a thoughtful design process, the SDJA high school curriculum integrates the humanities, science, math, Jewish thought, practices, and values to inspire our students to thoughtfully approach opportunities in any field, subject, or life circumstance with the curiosity to ask significant questions, and the confidence to to implement solutions.

What students & parents are saying

A group of Upper School students receive instruction from a teacher

The staff and teachers are always available and are always ready to help. I love that the teachers and staff know me and who I am. They understand your strengths and weaknesses, and know how to build you up.
