Middle School Academics

Maimonides Upper School

Laying the foundation for academic excellence

At the SDJA Middle School, we cultivate a safe environment where students are supported and guided in their growth during these transformative years of profound physical, emotional and intellectual growth. SDJA MS students enjoy a long runway to take intellectual risks, recognize successes and learn from missteps.

Program Overview

We encourage students to embrace struggle and growth as well as celebrate their accomplishments. Throughout the grades 6-8 middle school experience, SDJA students develop a strong sense of self through rigorous coursework that challenges them to synthesize, listen, communicate, and solve problems.

By appealing to their growing sense of independence, we expect MS students to be active school community members by embracing leadership roles, competing in interscholastic athletics, and being designers of campus culture. By the end of 8th grade, our challenging program instills self awareness, confidence, and the academic foundation to flourish in the SDJA High School.
